Forum functionality request - embedded videos
We ought to be able to embed videos into posts, not just adding links. The Epic win and similar threads would be much enhanced if it were allowed.

Re: Forum functionality request - embedded videos
This is not a good idea at all. I've been to forums that allow video embeds, and when there's a video-heavy thread it takes about 10 seconds for the page to become responsive.
Re: Forum functionality request - embedded videos
Well, I post to tens of forums and I've NEVER EVER seen that.

Video embedded, makes next to no difference to the loading time as the video is loaded via a video providing service as all videos will be.
This multi-thread post has multiple videos embedded, takes no time to load just the video headers from the provider.

These things are optimised to reduce loading times, otherwise how would they be so successful? That was an incorrect and dare I say it, slightly daft post.

Re: Forum functionality request - embedded videos
Imo this should go along with the creation of an epic win category. The thread is overgarbaged and one topic per win would make it better to discuss the wins with eg. Bug reports regarding rapps etc.
Re: Forum functionality request - embedded videos
What does this mean? ie. "This should go" - ambiguous, could mean either you want it or don't want it, clarify.gonzoMD wrote:Imo this should go along with the creation of an epic win category.

Re: Forum functionality request - embedded videos
A catergory like news or tutorials which is named epic win and where a new topic for each epic win app can be created. This would decrease the embedded videos in one topic. The amount of already made replies makes this worth.

Don't we have such a thread already? http://reactos.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... c340127ad7

Re: Forum functionality request - embedded videos
We have that one thread which is pretty hard to navigate, but we could have a forum section dedicated to epic win threads (section akin to Design or ReactOS Website Feedback). That could become hard to navigate as well, but much less than one 70-page spaghetti thread.
