ZFS filesystem for Windows

Post by LeFantome »

Now that ReactOS is advanced enough to implement BTRFS and NTFS, this might be interesting.

Microsoft has released an Open Source ( CDDL ) implementation of the ZFS filesystem for Windows.

https://github.com/openzfsonwindows/ZFSin

Some consider ZFS to be the most advanced filesystem in the world. In 2017, one analyst described OpenZFS as "the only proven Open Source data-validating enterprise file system".

This repo does not belong to Microsoft. :|

CDDL code cannot be mixed with GPL2 code.
-uses Ubuntu+GNOME 3 GNU/Linux
-likes Free (as in freedom) and Open Source Detergents
-favors open source of Windows 10 under GPL2

Yes there is. Go back to the repository and read the Open Solaris one...

There's been some discussion about getting it working on ROS here: https://github.com/openzfsonwindows/ZFSin/issues/31 and here: https://jira.reactos.org/browse/CORE-14672

At least ZFS filesystem support could be included in FreeLoader, as first step...
