monthly updates?

Post by lantrung246a » Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:56 am

ust a thought is there a reason why the developers aren't releasing major releases monthly? ReactOS seems to be quiet at the moment with the feature-related news and the news section is not as up-to-date including the ReactOS Twitter account which is outdated. I know the devs are busy but I'm curious what are your thoughts on this. Personally I would have preferred more transparency from the team in what's going on behind the scenes with ReactOS and what's being planned.

Release means regression testing, means ppl work on testing and not fixing. As the testing always takes weeks to do these ppl would only do one thing starting from that time... Regression testing. Nope, bad idea. We have releases more than often enough and way more often than other projects which aren't dead too. And more important: Regardless how often we release, ppl will still come by and say we are dead because there is no release... *sigh*
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

If you want transparency simply look at the git logs for whats going on behind the scenes.;a=summary

ReactOS Chat is another good place to find out whats happening

also reading the Community Changelogs are a good way to find out what's happening in upcoming releases

The situation with the twitter account is kinda unfortunate last i heard the person who was managing the account is no longer active and other developers don't have admin login rights to the account.
