No Floyd Samba does not have the problems.
0-500 Samba you use like NT.
500+ Samba backs on to a LDAP system.
Ie Samba had the work around first AD is a nasty version of the same thing.
40000 limit does not exist on Samba.
Samba 4 will have the ADS emulation threw LDAP. Yes one more version current version is 3.
