We don't have the basic APIs for defragging. So don't expect to see any defragmenter programs working in ReactOS right now.oldman wrote:Do you mean that, it installs and runs? because it does not look like it can defrag! I see in the screenshot the heading Fragmentation with unknown underneath the heading.henrytang5247 wrote:Defraggler 2.19 worked in ReactOS
I have had defrag apps install and run, but they do not actually defrag the hard drive!
Yes, this. I've seen quite a few programs posted that do not work, they can start but they cannot carry out their primary function, making it a moot point. Especially Chrome, don't give people's hopes up with that, Chrome does not work yet, it can't display any pages at all, not even it's home page.middings wrote:To me, "worked" means the program installed, started, displayed and responded to its user interface, ran its essential functions correctly, and did not damage data or the ReactOS installation. I suppose that many newcomers to ReactOS will have a similar expectation when they see a claim that a program worked.
Testing to verify that, by this criteria, a program worked with ReactOS will be time-consuming and tedious.
Indeed, it should do what it's supposed to do. It doesn't seem that time consuming to actually use the program, and to check that it doesn't obviously render ReactOS unusable. It would be nice to use it long enough to be sure that it doesn't damage your data or OS, but at least test the basic functionality -- i.e. a drawing program actually draws, a printing program actually prints, a defragging program actually defrags.middings wrote:To me, "worked" means the program installed, started, displayed and responded to its user interface, ran its essential functions correctly, and did not damage data or the ReactOS installation.
