Re: EPIC WIN!
Just think of ReactOS as the XP beta, Whistler.
Re: EPIC WIN! - nginx
Here is another first for me. I have never tried nginx before; this is the server that runs https://www.reactos.org! So when Ros is stable enough, it will be able to host it's own website (https://www.reactos.org running in ReactOS!).

You may not like the blue, but I had to change it from white, and I put the extra headline in about nginx running in Ros.

Basically thanks Zefklop.oldman wrote:Yes, they need to find jre on your system.manuel wrote:very, very interesting, but is need install jre previously?
I have been able to install java, off and on (sometimes it failed to install) for at least 2 years, but Netbeans and other Java apps have not been able to find jre, so would not install.
Some dev has coded something that has now made the Java installation visible to these apps.
There are still things that may need sorting out, but so far so good.

Re: EPIC WIN!
Which Java did you manage to run? 1.7.0 U65 fails here in HEAD.
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

JDK-7U51 and JRE-7U51, both cause a BSOD!

Re: EPIC WIN! - Netbeans8 and JDK8U11
I have only just been able to install JDK8U11. The installation went well (apart from a warning about upgrading the OS) up until about 3/4 of the way through installing the public JRE, then Ros BSODed. So after re-booting Ros, I started the installation of JDK again. No BSOD this time, but at about 3/4 of the way through installing this public JRE, the hard drive was making a noise like the same sector was being written to continually, so I opened the Task Manger and first closed the JRE install exe, then the JDK install exe.
Now the installation of Netbeans 8.0 full windows (everything). This went well with the exception that it reported that it could not find the JUnit Library; see next image.
[ external image ]
I have not tested it beyond the last image, neither have I tried to run it after a re-boot. So here are the images of what I have managed to do.

There is a little fault in this next image; the window border of the IDE is invisible (it is there, because when I took the screenshot, the area was highlighted and that is why you can see a bit of the desktop).

Re: EPIC WIN!
This seems quite nice, reactOS app compatibility seems to improve nicely these days, can't wait to see how it'll be in 0.4
If the team doesnt have enough money i'd gladly donate a few more $$$ in a future indiegogo campaign.

If you don't need a reward, you don't have to wait for an IndieGoGo campaign! https://www.reactos.org/donations

Re: EPIC WIN! - VNC
I have posted about this before, but here I have some screenshots.
Computer No1, the listening computer - OS Windows XP with TightVNC 2.7
Computer No2, the server for VNC - OS ReactOS revision 63796 with UltraVNC 105
I had no problems for the short time I was connected.
