Squirrels can be presented in both a professional and cute manner, they've lightning-fast reflexes. are intelligent and are generally well-liked by everyone.

Now, if ROS becomes very fast, very versatile (and intelligent?), it'll become well-liked by everyone and thus deserve a squirrel as mascot ;)
I think a squirrel would make sense since it is small and fast, just like ReactOS. It roams free, similar to the free open source of ReactOS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squirrel

Squirrels are rats with really good PR.

I strongly believe that Windows users are becoming more and more dissatisfied with the unprofessional appearance of Windows XP. Therefore I think ReactOS can pull users away from Windows by remaining professional in appearance and presentation. This includes how it markets itself with logos and mascots.

Besides, Reacty could kick Rovers behind any day.
not me i love the look of windows xp, but i'm sure you know that.

That previous topic was from eight years ago. What have I said about resurrecting topics that old?

All it takes is some pixie dust and the right incantations, and you can raise anything from the dead... ;-)

Maybe that is what we need as a mascot, a wizard. That is what producing ReactOS is about, incantations. Just put the right words and symbols on the sacred scrolls stored in the sacred hard drives, and magic happens. So put the "atom" symbol in a wizard's hands as a representation of that magic.

Just brainstorming aloud if that is allowed...

YAAAAY, Anime :-D
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

If my post/reply offends or insults you, be sure that you know what sarcasm is...

I think she would make a great spokes person. :D

I think the mascot should be a squirel in a wizards outfit with the ROS atom between its paws. :ugeek:

Wow, where did the time go? So much has changed.

The blue-red clownish theme and telletubbies-ish background of Windows XP pale in comparison to the modern atrocity that is Windows 8. At least in XP with a few user-configurable settings you could go back to the good old professional 9X appearance.
