Screenshots

Post by Ged »

Can anyone who has any interesting screenshots please post links where they can be accessed.

I've seen some great shots pop up in IRC recently, but I didn't save any of the links.

We can merge a few of them into the homepage to keep things current.

(if you want to use them, please put them on your server as I can't keep them long on mine)

Its probably not wise to include screenshots of installers unless the game itself runs, might give people the wrong idea. Last time I tested Diablo/Starcraft/Blizzard Games dont finish installing without BSOD.

A new set of 0.2.9 screen shots is here: http://toastytech.com/guis/react29.html

A couple of the more interesting ones include: Photoshop 3.0 and Powerpoint for Windows 95

MikTeX installs with a few changes (MikTeX is something I can't do with out!). Yapp hangs when making fonts.

Maybe I'm not up to date but AFAIK there is still a WinAPI missing in order to make screenshots using an application on ROS.

I think there is an application wich is able to make screenshots of ROS running on real HW, someone mentioned it here on the forum about a year ago, but I don't remember the name.

I don't know if the bug that caused this problem is now fixed.

there may be lots of ways now, but I think the software from about a year ago mught have been mine! http://www.sharemation.com/lanmail/othe ... hooter.zip
It's a bit rough but i didn't think it would be used for this long and it gets the job done.
I were a bit limited in what I could use, I could probably make it better now (now that reactos has improved) if people thinks it is useful.

the last time it was downloaded was Sunday, November 27, 2005.

Yes, that's it! This whas the one I remembered, I think it worked for me then (if I don't remember wrong).
This utility should be a part of the React0S utilities everyone needs to take screenshots.

I have now added this file to the instruction in the Support forum. I would like to have this as a part of ROS accessories actually, everyone should be able to make screenshots easily.

It's a binary file. Most people are (or should be) wary about it and choose not to run it, on their Windows machines at least.

If it's in C and GPL, I could certainly include the code into rosapps for anyone wanting to take screenshots on real hardware.

Why be so paranoid?
I'm never compiling stuff on my windows machine (except ReactOS) and I don't really have any problems.
