Great news!
Precise Calculator has joined the ReactOS Open Source Program! It's exciting to see how open source apps keeps joining.
The "Precise Calculator" is a featured calculator:
You can define an arbitrary precision, it works with complex numbers, fractions, matrices, log into a file, history and much more.
But it keeps the ReactOS Calculator "feeling".

While that is great news, as far as including it in ROS goes, I would strongly suggest not to set it default at that. It's quite overbearing for a casual calculation, and certainly compared to the one that is on winXP (and even vista or later) and that one expects to get. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with ameliorating it. I would therefore suggest a more simple calculus-window to open at default (like one is used to on XP), but have the option (tab?) to go to a 'scientific calculator' mode, which would then show this.vicmarcal wrote:Great news!

None of the Support Program apps will become default, they will be just easier to add during the installation.

Yes, I know, but does that mean none of the programs joining the open source program could be incorporated (by default) in ROS neither?vicmarcal wrote:Webunny: http://community.reactos.org/index.php/ ... nt-program
The question I ask this, especially with the calculator, is that the basic one in XP (which IS incorporated) often is good enough for non-complex things, but lacks when one wants to go beyond trivial calculations. That said, most people want and expect the 'normal' one.
So, since ROS aims to have an easy transfer from XP to ROS and keep it as much as possible ('have the look and feel') of XP, and seen the fact it (a calculator) IS there in XP, it should also be (as such) in ROS; however, nothing inhibits ROS being better than XP (which is already said in regard to security in the future), right? So I think it might be a good idea to incorporate this into ROS, as an additional feature of the 'ROS calculator' (aka, as an improved version of the windows calculator), which could be switched to if needed (which isn't possible on XP with the default calculator).

Hi all!
I am the developer of the open source project Advanced Trigonometry Calculator.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/advantrigoncalc/
Could I help ReactOS providing my calculator to the ReactOS operating system?
What I need to do?
Thanks in advance,
Renato Freitas

Rule #5
ReactOS already has a calculator, but you could build upon that one if you wanted to.

Propose the application to be included into RAPPS so it could be installed from the ROS repository. Do it at JIRA: https://jira.reactos.org/renatofreitas91 wrote:Hi all!

Sadly, it's very unlikely that the current calculator will be replaced, because the team aims to make a complete clone of Windows 2003 and most if not all of third-party applications were refused in the past.
