reactos-server!!!
Is this "http://sourceforge.net/projects/reactos-server/" known? I have just done a internet search and come across it.

Re: reactos-server!!!
No code at all. Seems a bit dead to me
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

here is a distro called nucle os: http://sourceforge.net/projects/nucleos ... =directory. At least the illegal ones are gone.
Re: reactos-server!!!
There seems to be a lot of ROS Servers, none of them seem very finished, or even off the ground. I don't know why they even bother when ROS is clearly not in any state to run 24/7. I mean if they want to help they should just contribute code, not fragment it. Though I do sympathize with the dream of running ROS on a server, that'd be amazing.
Re: reactos-server!!!
That will happen the moment Ros becomes very stable. I have done some testing of webservers, but Ros lasts less than 5 minutes!Konata wrote:.............................................. Though I do sympathize with the dream of running ROS on a server, that'd be amazing.

Edited out text that was nothing to do with me! Where did it come from?
I have just had to remove more un-wanted text that appeared while I was editing this post! Is there a bug?

Re: reactos-server!!!
why what happens to the ros server that makes it die? Also reactos does not have to be stable to be put on servers, just look at arch or gentoo they are unstable as hell and yet some use them for servers, so why not a reactos fan use reactos on a server if they know what they are doing? I don't think they should be forking the code like that, just make a conosle full screen and done.

Re: reactos-server!!!
I think you made a typo and mean lighttpd. It's strange that nginx would work and lighttpd not, since they both have a lot in common in regard to systemcalls and how it works in general. Can you say how stable it runs/for how long? Because, in all honesty, If I leave my ROS PC on for more than a day, it often shows up with a BSOD.oldman wrote:Very good!hbelusca wrote:"

Re: reactos-server!!!
Today I have been testing nginx and I have taken some screenshots for you to see. The server was running for about 1 hour and 5 minutes, but I was accessing it for about an hour, before I hit problems.
The setup was, test computer running nginx webserver in one room and a cable through to another room to my laptop.
The problem was, that the server had stopped serving (down-loading a file) and when I went to the computer, it had become slow to use; but I did manage to install an app and take a screenshot of the nginx window. The computer was shut down by the normal method, but will not now boot (error loading hive). Puppy Linux shows problems with the reactos and nginx folders.
Now the screenshots:
This one shows nginx running in ReactOS R63916.
[ external image ]
This is a webpage I cobbled together to show, the IP address of the server, which server was being tested (for all you people to see) and the links to my test files
[ external image ]
This is an ogg file running in the browser showing the opening scene of Big Buck Bunny.
[ external image ]
And to show that it ran through to the end.
[ external image ]
This is just a jpg image file.
[ external image ]
This shows the start of the down-load of the three larger files.
[ external image ]
And to prove that all three files were down-loaded. This image also shows the file that stopped down-loading (it actually stopped at 150KB). I may have contributed to the session coming to an end, by trying to down-load another file on the same connection, at the same time.

There is a database engine running?
I tried mysql, the service start but i can't manage to connect from the console.
The only DB engine i successfully tested is javadb. Tomcat App server run on reactos with java 7u60.
Apache after version 2.2 drop support for XP so Reactos don't recognize the exe file, and also old versions don't work on reactos.
Re: reactos-server!!!
I have done some more testing with revision 63916 using Hiawatha (see my post for "24 Aug 2014 12:02" above).
I have cobbled together (I am no programmer, I need code snippets to be able to do anything!) a batch file to run Wget to down-load my test files (1.1Gb in total) and to keep doing it for a set number of times (12 for this test).
I was able to run the batch file for 1 hour 45 minutes before problems started (they may have been caused by me accessing the server from another computer) and the server totally stopped serving 20 minutes later. The problems started on the fifth run. It is to be noted that Wget is a very aggressive down-loader.
My test computer was found to be very slow, but the server was not showing any errors and there are no errors in the logs.
It seems that Ros eventually gets choked. I had thought to run in debug mode and get a debug log, but that could have been huge.
For all of you who like looking through code, here is the Command Prompt window output. It starts from a good down-load and ends where it is failing to connect to the server.

Re: reactos-server!!!
Here is an up-date on my last post.
I have done some more testing with webservers with revision 63989 in real hardware.
I have this cobbled together batch file, which I have set it to run Wget 10 times to down-load a test website of 1.1Gb. The webserver was again Hiawatha and it successfully down-loaded the website 10 times with no problems. This took approximately 3hours and 20 minutes (approx 20 mins each complete site down-load of 1.1Gb) for the 11Gb.
I then started nginx webserver and used 2 batch files, 1 to talk to Hiawatha on port 8080 and the other one to talk to nginx on port 80. I found that this doubled the time for each complete down-load, to 40 minutes.
The debug log showed that when 2 servers were working, Ros output lots of the following (only a snippet show here) debug text:
It seems that Ros is now more stable than when I first started testing webservers a few weeks ago!
