Quite right about the re-use of code. I often find myself hacking about in something I have created before and the result can often be an increasing mess. I think to start from scratch each time though requires a razor-like mind. I don't have that.

Gigaherz's concluding sentence probably pleases Z98, who often warns that code re-use rarely comes cheaply.

Rewriting is just a way to call for new bugs:

Any rewrite should be backed with Unit Tests.
And in several places in ReactOS we have seen such problem.
Probably it should be forbidden to rewrite an API if there is no enough API-tests to check the implementation.
