I just read a very interesting article by Andrew Tanenbaum:
http://cacm.acm.org/magazines/2016/3/19 ... x/fulltext
I think that article can be called "how to pulverize funding", because for all I read, he got SIX AND A HALF MILLION USD and did NOT manage to produce an actually working Minix 3 (for all I know Minix 3 STILL does not support USB sticks other than as installation media), in the end fleeing to NetBSD so he has at least something and telling you "the Minix project is not ending". I really think this guy may be a genius professor, but not someone to entrust with software development.
On the other hand, I would be interested EXACTLY HOW that guy got this kind of money... and for those more knowledgeable, I am sharing this. I really think ReactOS would be a much more proper target for such funding.
