Yes, drivers written for Linux/Unix are hard to adapt to a Microsoft Windows and other NT operating systems. Their adaptation is so hard that writing a completely new driver (a.k.a. starting from scratch) is almost always the easiest method to obtain a quality driver for NT operating systems.

Preliminary work has begun on ReactOS support for NTFS as an NT IFS (Installable File System). The ReactOS wiki's File Systems page discusses in great detail the implementation of NTFS and the technical difficulties that must first be overcome.

NOTE: The File Systems wiki page contains links to ReactOS Forum topics that may be almost a decade old. Avoid thread necromancy. Do not violate ReactOS Forum User Policy. Do not make new posts to those old threads. To discuss new information that is relevant to NTFS for ReactOS, please start a new topic in the General Discussion and Feedback forum.

Bugs discovered since r73228.

1. microsoft mouse 3000 doesnt work (usb stack not implemented enough?) . r73449 -not tried (tbc will be edited)
2. liveiso r73449 comparing to hdd installation (73228/73449) - touchpad works, keyboard as well (why?)
a) hdd installation (r73228) i have tried "cont" on keyboard but still freezed.
ref: --> https://youtu.be/BopJhtoJfJs not sure it was r73228/73449
3. Liveiso... debug to logfile - anyone can explain me where it goes?? (debug.log?) if system is read only??(cd rom/ram ) - this is the best,
a) Fast moving kernel logs arent useful either for me either for developers - can i hold it? or ? its better to paste this to normal text (like pastebin) or there..
ref: --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_deL_yYSJic
b) Specially created FAT partition and choosen debug to log file in freeloader (in livecd i can move mouse/ press keys) believing it will push this log (debug.log) into this partition specially created for it - it didnt, or how to force it? cd drive already burned and i cant edit freeldr.ini on it
4. At this partition i made folder with drivers intel centrino 2230 (wifi card)(tried to find oldest one) (i wanted to try at least it will do "something" ofcourse not, seems it cant copy any file anywhere even to desktop from this partition.[talking aboult live cd]

4. Sometimes when livecd trying to load i have "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA"
STOP: 0X00000050 (OXE108B000,0X00000000,0X80849738,0X00000000)
NTOSKRNL.EXE - Address 80849738 base at 80800000, DateStamp 584d297e
ref: --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78p-tzzerDk

5. Livecd iso asking after some steps which way i want to use livecd or installation, typing installation causes (what? userinit not found?) tbc. - similar stage at linux distros was working .

6. Formatting whole drive (around 750 GB) hangs? or takes time to check (stopped after 1 minute - TBC) , any why once its saing formatting as fat once saying fat32? i believe its big diffrerence between them?

Thakns Middings for attention, they was published as working copy. If anybody will be interested more then me in this thread i will do more tests at Supporttt department.

edit1: android phone as bootable usb (and writable .... :) ) causes kernel panic:
ref: ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8T2w3XluCA
and i still cant get this debug.log file .... doing stupid photos and sharing them over youtube , so where it goes???
bootcd-73452-rel gives ultra crash at stage loading reactos setup - i had to remove battery from lapotop

edit2:

http://pastebin.com/T8CaqMe4 (dont want to explain how difficult it was to get it(1)...

(1) After pure format everything i divided disk partitions to 200 gb(ntfs) / 500 gb(unformatted). Wasted 2 days installing windows update things, seen some livecd activity at jira - lets try (73464)

Lets try to install reactos (bootcd) on second partition (500GB) but at last stage i choose DONT DO ANYTHING with vbr/mbr ... - result nothing is working - windows gone ( bootrec /FixMbr bootrec /FixBoot bootrec /ScanOs bootrec /RebuildBcd - doesnt help ) , and offcourse i cant even move mouse at hdd version (reactos) seriously you need to do something with low level code. Then i used linux livecd to get debug.log from system

edit3:
pc params
