Apologies if I misunderstood something. I'm seeing a question about whether or not there has been a license violation with this "new" OS, and I believe there has been.

Jump down to the section titled "5. Conveying Modified Source Versions" and give it a read. At the very least (IMO) 5a has been as violated as is humanly possible, and possibly others too.
Please add the modified Lautus-theme of GreenteaOS

I am not very experienced at this.milon wrote:Apologies if I misunderstood something. I'm seeing a question about whether or not there has been a license violation with this "new" OS, and I believe there has been.

But as far as I know ReactOS uses GNU GPL V2.
Wiki says GNU GPL V2+.
I think the same is for GreenteaOS.
Can Greentea guys follow GNU GPL V2 only ?
Will GNU GPL V3 rules be applicable for them ?
Re: Please add the modified Lautus-theme of GreenteaOS
Oh, oops! I thought it was GNU GPL 3. I'll have to double check that. Whatever one ReactOS uses is the one that would apply, of course.
Re: Please add the modified Lautus-theme of GreenteaOS
ReactOS Github page says that :
According to this wiki page ( See 'Open' ) :
But the picture right next to 'Open' contains this :
But no link to GNU GPL V2 .
I think that what they ( ReactOS Foundation / Project ) are trying to say is 'GNU GPL Version 2 or later'.
I think the question remains the same.
Are Greentea guys supposed to follow GNU GPL V2 OR V3 ?
Which version of GNU GPL is applicable for them ( GreenteaOS Team ) ?
Another thing :
This page says ( See 'License' ) :
But this License in this same page seems to be of GNU LGPL V2.1.
The wiki is unclear. The code of ReactOS is licensed under
GNU GPL 2.0.
According to this wiki page ( See 'Open' ) :
Can't find any version. Most parts are licensed under GNU General Public License, some modules have other licenses like BSD .
But the picture right next to 'Open' contains this :
But this same wiki page has a link like this ( 'See Also' ) :The code of ReactOS is
licensed under GNU GPL 2.0+
Why a link to GNU GPL V3 ?
But no link to GNU GPL V2 .
I think that what they ( ReactOS Foundation / Project ) are trying to say is 'GNU GPL Version 2 or later'.

Another thing :
This page says ( See 'License' ) :
Can't find GPL Version.OS Greentea itself is being mostly a GPL project.
But this License in this same page seems to be of GNU LGPL V2.1.
Re: Please add the modified Lautus-theme of GreenteaOS
Greentea OS "lautus.msstyle" size is 2,00 MB, about 970 KB bigger than ReactOS "lautus.msstyle".

And... what do you wanna tell us with that thread necromancy?!
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

Now Greentea OS is discontinued.theuserbl wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2017 12:33 am Congrats to ReactOS 0.4.7!
It is nice, that it is now possible to choose between the default theme and the Lautus theme during the installation.
But could you please include in next versions of ReactOS the modified Lautus-theme of GreenteaOS 0.5.1 ?

I think "EightBlue" would be a nice name for it. Then it could also be added additional themes called "EightYellow", "EightGreen" and "EightRed", which only differ in color.
As I wrote at
https://github.com/GreenteaOS/Greentea/issues/97
the theme looks on GreenteaOS itself not so nice.

For nostalgies, see here: https://jira.reactos.org/browse/CORE-15732
We can simple join efforts in order to make a new theme.

Source of that claim?

There are 404's with most of their links. Too bad, as I was pulling for the fork to work.
