Re: Target Kernel
Target kernel is Windows Five aka XP/2003 long since.

Re: Target Kernel
We should make it an easier target - let's just copy a typical ROM from a Z80 and use BASIC instead of an o/s. We could have that finished in a few years.

Re: Target Kernel
Maybe I'm too optimist and just change doesn't solved all. But I'm pretty sure the target (XP/2003) is a drag for the development.PurpleGurl wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 3:49 pm No it is not, and an unstable and partially implemented kernel is part of what is causing the driver compatibility issues. Changing the target won't magically resolve it... since you have to then finish the older components and then add new parts on top of that, with some changes in the old parts. So stick to a simpler Windows version and build from there, and make it solid.

Re: Target Kernel
It's funny this being talked about when hardware driver compatibility is improving, changing now would be a waste of all the developers time that was invested. Only once xp hardware support is stable it would make sense to move on. But what may help the eventual transition would be if WDF & UDF were implemented since they are used by both XP and vista+.

Most member of our community prefer to build a Citroën DS ("The Goddess") or a Citroën 2CV first - and not immediately a champion's racing rally car like a Citroën DS3 WRC...shunesburg wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 3:27 am Maybe I'm too optimist and just change doesn't solved all.
