¡Intel deletes old drivers!... like those ones ReactOS needs to be used in Intel hardware.

Despite archive webs, those who have original CD with Intel hardware drivers for Windows 98, XP,... should NOT TRASH them....
Could be an ReactOS foundation iniciative to have an archive with these old drivers from rescued CDs , download,...?

Yes, intel deletes its old drivers as there are plenty of new drivers uploaded daily. Also, to maintain the old driver is a big task for intel, So they keep on deleting the old driver of machines which are discontinued.

Which is dumb because despite not being in support, Intel still can host the downloads to keep machines working, all of the driver's they're removing probably cost almost nothing in terms of storage.

Re: Intel deletes old drivers
So tell to all people who needs these drivers, specially ReactOS project (that aims to NT 5.2 = Windows XP/Server 2003) that won´t be able use Intel hardware specifications without drivers.
Maybe exists some Intel hardware generic drivers for Windows XP, or ROS will eventually be able to use Windows 7 drivers.
Even companies like NVIDIA still have some webs with Windows 9x drivers in archive, without be a "waste of effort" to still have this web. See viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16446 .
So ,for example, NVIDIA Windows XP driver should be deleted too because the company would eventually get "tired" of still hosting them? I think NOT.

Re: Intel deletes old drivers
From what I understand the waybackmachine has archived much of it and it was about 300GB deleted.... 300GB these days *is* nothing. Also this isn't "maintenace" these are drivers that just sit there on a server waiting for someone that might have needed it to download it... virtually zero cost.learn_more wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 9:12 pmplease tell us more with your undoubtedly years of experience maintaining products for thousands if not millions of customers.onestop_mid wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:23 pm Which is dumb because despite not being in support, Intel still can host the downloads to keep machines working, all of the driver's they're removing probably cost almost nothing in terms of storage.
