OpenOffice.org 2 setup problem

Post by michael79 »

I have tested OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 RC and the installer
is not working anymore on ReactOS. It complains about
a plugins folder.

I hope it will *not* affect the future of OpenOffice.org on ReactOS...

I confirm this problem only appears with the latest SVN releases.

is it not able to create the folder? or is it just missing? if you create the folder ahead of time does the installer work?

I get the same error If I remove the folder
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.0\program\plugin

the folder is blank but OoO still wants it.

then don't delete it--OOo may still use it for caching or something

I'm just saying what may be creating the problem. I'm suggesting seeing if creating that folder will solve the error.

And here I was expecting to hear about how Sun Microsystems had made a deal with SATAN, and decided to stop all further GPL development of OOo. ;)

Things break all the time, and while this is an annoyance, it just exposes more bugs to fix in ReactOS, so it is actually a good thing at this time.

It seems that trying to install any program in svn 22275 will give you the same error.

Current trunk have some regress thanks at we have start removing hacks. and implement some stuff the right way. until will take time before we are back on same status as 0.2.9 when it comes to software compatible. it will take some weeks maybe 1-2 month

This is why we have the 0.3 branch which will lead to ReactOS 0.3 release this summer.
