How to change ntoskrnl.exe blue color?

Post by eried »

I remove the random jokes and other friendly msgs from ntoskrnl showed when shutting down, modified the bootscreen with exescope in bootvid.sys, and configured regedit to execute a modified flash exe (without menu) at startup as shell. All works perfect but I want to change the ntoskrnl background color...

anyone can tellme the hex pattern of that blue to modify the file?

thanks

reactos is the best :D is almost like a windows xp "embeded" ultra light.

Too bad..

Sounds interesting. Any Screenshots available? :D

Try this

FREELOADER GUI has many settings in freeldr.in

ShowTime=No
MinimalUI=Yes
MenuBox=No
CenterMenu=No
TimeText=Seconds until highlighted choice will be started automatically:
Also make sure the following are set:
MenuTextColor=Gray
MenuColor=Black
TextColor=Gray
SelectedTextColor=Black
SelectedColor=Gray.

Nope... is appear than the final blue color (finishing screen with friendly msgs) or pre startup blue screen are controled by OS, kernel or something not from loader :(

He's a completely innapropriate thought for an Alpha. . Has anyone ever thought of making a non-static bootsplash?

Say. . Maybe a short animation or video clip? I mean if SGI can do it, why can't you! (Referring to the audio file played on Boot on the Indy)

If you start to read through and/or search the forums you will find several ideas and thoughts about this subject, start with that before changing the subject in a present thread, there might be better places for your post then where you come up with your thought at the first time.

And ofcourse it can be done, but why spend time on non-critical stuff when the OS is in such instable state and so few apps can be run. When we have a stable system that can run a wide range of software we will have eye-candy too in time.

Anyone tried to see if minlogon will work with ROS? It was originally intended for XPe, but works perfectly fine with all regular XP builds, using it can allow for XP to boot to desktop in 15 secs. Removes the all annoying welcome and status windows on start/shutdown as well.
