Fundraising Campaign Annoucement

Post by frik85 »

The ReactOS project announces it's first fundraising campaign to help support the future operation and expansion of its free, multilingual, open source implementation of a Windows XP/2003 compatible operating system.

The fundraising campaign runs from January 08, 2007 through February 08, 2007, and aims to raise 4000 EUR (or 5500 USD). ReactOS will accept donations in dozens of currencies from individuals and organizations around the globe. We are doing our best to accept money using the most useful and accessible services.

The ReactOS Foundation supports one of the largest collaboratively developed open source operating system.

Do you support other pay methods? If yes, how to donate? I have no Paypal account. As a mark of recognition for the developers hard work I would like to donate a small symbolic sum ('m not reach)

Yeah, but in Europe, they don't give creditcards to cats
I mean, I don't own a credit card cause I'm still a student without income.
I believe in Europe, it's more common to use bank transfer methods then creditcards... (which is more secure than credit cards too)

True, and I do own a paypall account. But there's just no money on it. And the only way I can transfer money to it, is by creditcard (which I do not own). The tied bank account is just for transferring money from paypall to that account...

Uh, it's your bank account. Why can't you just put a deposit in through either check or cash? Walk into the bank and write out a deposit slip and give it to the teller.

I many parts of Europe you can now get a prepay card, which is like a debit card (with a different name). This will act like a credit card, but using the money you have in your account.

They already added a German bank account. Any EU citizen can transfer money very cheaply (in my case for free!) and ReactOS does not need to pay any commission to PayPal or credit card companies.

Very much the preferred way for me!

whoops, dubbelpost: ReactOS has an IBAN number, so sending money from europe with a regular bank account is easy (especially when you have internet banking):

Bank name: Volksbank-Paderborn-Höxter EG
Account number: 2050747402
Bank number: 472 601 21
IBAN: DE 89472601212050747402
BIC: DGPBDE3MXXX
Owner of the account: Christoph von Wittich

How I can be sure about the seriousness?
Somebody known (maybe a developer) needed who works longer on ReactOS and confirm here that if i make a bank transfer to this bank account it will go to ReactOS an not to somebody's moneybag.

Sorry Cristan for this distrust, but I want to be just sure. I'm not long on this forum and I don't know all people here.

The following link was found in the German Forum:

http://www.reactos.org/en/fundraising_c ... onate.html

The hint was written by Developer Dr. Fred and it was here.

Compare the account and then the one above should be trustable.
