Host for Virtual Machines

Post by tradey »

ReactOS could be a great free host system for VMWare and VirtualPC. The main catch about these programs is the need for 2 OS-Licenses. ReactOS doesnot need to provide any functionality for this task except drivers, performance and stability.
I think this may be a serious point for your PR! Something like "ReactOS VM-Edition" -> plain system, no apps.

Sorry, I was closer than the other guys. On topic, I think it’s actually a good idea, not only for VmWare but also for other uses. On implementation I think it might be better to have it as an installation option from the main cd rather than a new version.

You could package it with say QEMU and have QEMU ESX svr!

Totally cool, then it's just the VMWare speed that should be added.
