release plan can be found at
http://www.reactos.org/en/about_roadmap.html

But please don't nail us down on that. It's probably a little too optimistic. 2007 is unrealistic, but maybe 2008.
As a general rule: It's ready, when it's ready. ;-)

I'll just be happy since 0.4 release with some initial audio support. I can't wait to start testing my audio apps.

Dunno what project64 is (Nintendo emulator maybe ?) but have your friend informed their team about ROS ?

BTW some Syllable users indipendently ported Mupen64...

Yes, Project64 is THE Nintendo 64 emulator when it comes to Windows. Very compatible, very fast, and has some nice features.

BTW, If you have an SB16, you can already use audio via a slight -hack- if you must... But currently, as i suspect others know, there is no audio driver architecture support. And also: I hope ReactOS uses the XP model where acceleration was still possible.

Maybe your question is about if i'm coding any audio app. If this is the case the answer is no, i'm not a coder.

I love to compose some music as an entertainment (I'm not a professional). One of the apps I use to work with is Psycle (psycle.pastnotecut.org). This is an OSS compiled with MFC. I was trying to load it in current alphas and old versions load correctly but, of course, i can't produce any sound because it hangs ReactOS. Current versions of Psycle doesn't load in ReactOS (those made with MFC 7.1 and MFC 8.0).

One would hope they compiled in the MFC DLL into their app, otherwise we wouldn't be able to run them, as we don't have MFC support.

Psycle already comes with the needed MFC DLLs.

hi all

there is only one emulator that i know almost works on ReactOS 0.3.3-RC1 Visual Boy Advance v 1.5.1

to get it to almost work

1) start the emulator
2) click on options
3) scroll down to video
3) choose scrooll to render method
4) choose opengl
you will get an error
couldn't get installable client name!
5) the click on file open choose the rom and then open
you will get an directsound error

you can watch the intro that is all you can do

Madwolf: Do not paste something that long on the forum. Use the Paste section of this site and then link your paste.

I think for different people ReactOS just needs to have different things ... ;)

For me, I only care about one thing - network!
(Means browsing, and also routing to other computers on a local net)
Everything else (for me) ist just fancy extra - cool to have, but not that important
(for me, and this is only my useless 2 cc) :)

I need a fully functional production level, or near production level win32 that doesnt bombard me with genuine checks every 5 seconds when you want to install updates.

I for one, refuse to upgrade to XP, let ALONE the Orwellian horror known as Windows Vista. As a result of my eye-candy predjudices, I get suckerpunched from MS every time I want to update the system with windows update. Such nice people........

I agree, ReactOS will be ready, when ReactOS is ready. I eagerly await this moment in history, and just have to keep checking in on the progress from time to time.

Until then, just kick back, relax, and dont pitch a fit.
