Good for you that you've kept your promise!

However: I don't think there are enough people who are willing to donate on a regular basis to afford a fulltime developer (I'd consider it though) and because when that isn't the case, the donated money will go to webservers etc. And developers don't have direct benefit from that, so it won't be a huge encouragement I suppose. But hell, the idea is better than simply complain about late releases and not doing anything else. And donating (for whatever reason) is always a help
