Its a random error. It you are capable of replicating it at every boot, you might help us out by regression-testing this issue.

Fresh build, please!!!mth411 wrote:I would love to try the new Arwinss build.
Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's
I compiled a newer Arwinss ISO, based on trunk 49378 + latest arwinss (r49416). It contains a number of important updates and fixes for critical bugs. Stability of the subsystem is substantially improved due to rewritten timers implementation, which is now very robust. Please don't forget that other unrelated issues may arise, like those which are connected with the ongoing memory manager rewrite in the kernel. As usual, new heap manager is also turned on in this ISO.

Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's
It seemed I was able to see this error at every boot, but it disappeared after I rebooted 2 times in "debug" mode.Haos wrote:@mht411

After reinstallation of ROS behavior is the same:
boot 1 (normal): Enableusermodepnpmanage() Failed
boot 2 (normal): Enableusermodepnpmanage() Failed
...
boot N (debug): Enableusermodepnpmanage() Failed
boot N+1 (debug): ok
After the first successfull boot the problem of "Enableusermodepnpmanage() Failed" disappeares, even in "normal" boot mode.
Logs:
http://2g0.ru/temp/fail_logs.zip
trunk 49378 + latest arwinss (r49416), QEMU.
Maybe I could collect more info if I exactly new what to do.
PS: I'm posting this here as I can't find the appropriate bug to submit this info to.

Fixed:

Changed behavour:

http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5206
http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5226 (seems to be somehow related to "rewritten timers implementation")
New bugs introduced:

http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5714
http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5715
Good news: nero 6.6.0.8 and OO.org 3.1 can now be installed with no magic tricks! Thanks fireball!
Bad news: this build features some random crashes here or there. I guess they are releated to new subsystems in trunk, like heap, mm and cache.

YOU KNOW WHAT IS BACKTRACE OR NO? Can you provide at least backtrace in your logs? Than you will see that your bugs are duplicating each other. And second: if app doesn't work in arwinss it doesn't means it's arwinss bug. Retest your bugs in trunk and compare BACKTRACES.

Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's
I beg my pardon, the iso has a broken code path which makes it very unstable. I accidentally committed wrong changes, so they got through. I will publish an updated ISO shortly!
Done, look for the updated link a few messages earlier. I deleted non-working ISO from sf.net storage just in case.

What's wrong with .zip? I'm running Ubuntu Linux and don't have that .7z archive protocol installed. I hope I can find it.

Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's
OK, I found a plugin to add to File Roller and I got it unzipped... I mean, un7zed.
I tried to install it in VirtualBox directly from the .iso (no CD burned), but VB hung with the little window that says "ReactOS: Spawning session."

7z has got better compression ratios, might be that?LaneLester wrote:What's wrong with .zip? I'm running Ubuntu Linux and don't have that .7z archive protocol installed. I hope I can find it.

Re: Latest Arwinss ISO's
Uh, no. The design between trunk's Win32 subsystem and ARWINSS are vastly different. There's no way of "merging" the two, not in any meaningful way. The entire purpose of the branch is so that Aleksey and co could try a different design without messing up what Timo, Jim, Giannis, and others are doing in trunk.zed260 wrote:i dont know the current plans but i think it should go ahead and merge with trunk sense its mostly stable and stuff
