Arwinss : Alternative names + logo request

Re: Arwinss : Alternative names + logo request
I like OverReact.
ReactOS is a reaction to Windows that aims to be a free Windows-compatible operating system by doing everything that Windows does. Arwinss "overreacts" by going all-out for software compatibility by doing less of what Windows does and relying more on Wine. It's Wine running on top of (over) ReactOS, so "Over" has a double meaning.
The two branches then go hand in hand. You either React or OverReact depending on how much software compatibility you need.

Re: Arwinss : Alternative names + logo request
OverReact has a negative connotation to me, sounds too much like the derogatory allegation made in some arguments, though I like the thoughts and rationale behind it.
Even Arwinss, shortened to Arwins or Arwin sounds good enough. Hey, I can think of two OS's right off where their names seem out there, one being the word for part of a house, and another being a word from another language meaning unity or peace or whatever. And a whole platform and brand which sounds like something edible. So we can just pick an arbitrary word/name or just make one up.
I am still sort of partial to Grape (Grape 32, and hopefully Grape 64).

Or ReWined? LaWine has a nice ring. Even Red Wine. The Red part could be short for "REactos Driven.motivationmageu wrote:How about LaWine or ReAct! ?

UuuuberReact ^^
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

This one might have been mentioned, but ReWine, ReWined, or even ReWind could work.

OverReact matches perfectly. Easy to understand and remember. I think that the options have been discused and now it's time for voting.
Someone make a poll! :)
About the logo, something like this, that symbolizes both projects joining the common goal...

Still in a pretty raw state. But at least you can see the basis.
Let me know if you like my idea.

Why not Catalyst? A material which speeds up a reaction?

That's an incredibly fitting, attractive name! I'm on your boat now.

Catalyst is also the name of the ATI/AMD video drivers. Lets be careful. I like the name, though.dditthardt wrote:Why not Catalyst? A material which speeds up a reaction?

Agree with PurpleGurl. Also, I think it makes sense to have React in the name somewhere to make the relationship more obvious.
