"ROS native" caption look
Now I have done some design, too. And I have changed some kernel code (only cowards start coding with command line apps )
This is the result:

I know it's not perfect, yet. And I havent figured out good color values for the inactive caption, I will do that later.
The caption font doesn't look good. I tried to change it, by hacking the registry (really hacking, with hex-editor ), but it didn't work, I changed from bold to extrabold and even changed "Bitstream Vera Sans" to "Bitstream Vera Sans Bold", but it didn't work.
I tried to put Tahoma into ROS, changed the entries for CaptionFont to the same values of WinXP and renamed "Tahoma" in the SOFTWARE hive, so it wouldn't be replaced. But that did only destroy my installation.
I defenitly need a working regedit... and a working copy command and a working file explorer and ...

Use TotalCommander, it is really good for file copy and so on, it can even get files from a ftp-server.ThePhysicist wrote:I defenitly need a working regedit... and a working copy command and a working file explorer and ...

I like the idea of using International Standard Icons for were it fits.
Logout and Shutdown are covered in it. Do we have a graphic editing person here. Svg version of them would be good. Rescale into the future and keep them looking good.
Three options. Transparent but symbol same color as text.
Symbol in button round button like current.
Symbol in square button. Nice to see all three. One will be better.
