Its possible in the future that you could install ReactOS from a LiveCD enviroment much like what the linux distros are now doing.

maybe you can provide a browser that you can use during the install. Just to check out webpages or search for drivers.

Browser, music player, basic games. There's a lot that would be awesome to have during the install. Hopefully, though, the install won't take as long as some of the newer Windows, considering it won't be in the multi gigabyte range to install.

Baublery like this can be included in custom distributions but should in my opinion not go into trunk because with things like that ReactOS can seem like a homework project very quick.

that would be like, running the live cd and within the live running ros install it to hd... would take more time, but would be nice... as a second option maybe?

Why would a dev waste his time on this  . I would rather see USB Mouse Support.

There are plans for a "hybrid" ReactOS CD:
1) classic text mode first step setup, and reboot to graphical second step
2) ReactOS LiveCD graphical setup (first and second step combined)

Minesweeper would be enough or do you want to play solitaire for just 1-2 minutes?

What about a slide show that shows off different open source software.
eg. Firefox, Thunderbird, Filezilla, VLC etc...

Wizard of Wor!

Post by Jaix »

My suggestion for a game is the Wizard of Wor, it's easy and it doesn't tanke more then a minute to play!

It's an arcade game, but I first played it on c64.

Wizard of Wor is a PacMan with guns :D not too violent and very addictive, it's even optionally a two player game.

How about making a ReactOS clone with Reacty as main character and use that game as for installation game?

Even one picture does consume about the same disc space than such a small binary application (e.g. minesweeper game).

Ya, but every one picture could save someone buying the $$$ MS Office 200$. And in download size, if you use low level jpg, it does not add much to the size (people view extra web pages all the time).

Yeah that's a great game, What about the ReactOS Game? Maybe a good and easy basis for it.

BTW: You can download a free version of WoW 98 here
