Will ReactOS ever have any kind of input that is like Windows Vista's (stupid) voice interface/speech recognition? I know that the people behind this project dislike 3D crap, but this could be useful to impaired people. This would be a difficult / slightly fun project that could really (someday) make ReactOS a little bit more popular. Please don't kill me with any response.
Speech recognition technology is perhaps one of the more advanced and difficult to develop systems. Until there's an open source version that works very well, and I don't mean just good enough, it's unlikely it would be considered for inclusion.
I know what you mean about needing it to be perfect (close enough as man can get, anyway), Vista's is "just good enough", and it cannot even tell if I say turtle or moron. Someday, ReactOS could incorporate some kind of utility like Vista's, but with more people using something like VoxForge's accoustic models.
Lembam: It would be useful to have a speech system oneyear. Not exactly like Microsoft's, or Apple's. BTW, there is plenty of stuff MS has gotten ideas from Apple on, and vice-versa. Haos: Thanks for the no MS idea .
