ReactOS Media Player

Post by andrewweb »

Due to recent discussion, I have given up trying to make reactos a mediaplayer. Instead, I want the community to skin something like MPC or VLC, and that should be packaged with that skin in ReactOS.
For this reason, I am no longer watching this post.

Thanks,

Andrew Faulds

It can't be added to ReactOS project because it uses Delphi. Only plain C (and C++ in some conditions) is accepted.

what is with people and Delphi? I have been programming professionally for five years now and I have never seen a professional project done in delphi, I'm sure there must be at least one out there. maybe its just me, I don't know, I have tried Delphi and no thanks i will stick to C/C++ and java. I would rather work in ASM than delphi. There is no way a Delphi app will be included with ReactOS anyway. So why do all these people keep posting about Delphi programs?????? :?: I simple search of the forums will so that the devs have stated over and over that NO Delphi apps will be included with ReactOS. I am not trying to discourage anyone from writing Delphi apps, don't get me wrong I think its great that people are programming in any language, but why do we always have post about wanting there apps to be included in ReactOS and then get mad when they are told that only apps that are in C/C++ will be included and sometimes not even then.

Guess what... there wont be anything like WMP in ReactOS, because no one wants it, apart from you.

ROS doesn't need a media player to be compatible. For that matter, in order to play quite a few different media formats out there, you'd need more than just WMP.

Use some Media Player clone, associate it with .wma, and your compatible. We don't care about music yet until we can get basic sounds out of the driver.

You still need a media control as that is required in many apps.

Oh god :!: Please read some books about design, before posting in this forum. About usability and stuff I won't even talk...
