i like the second one, it's nicer than the actual standard wallpaper

Clean and simple. The white text is a bit too sharp though. A more milder gray would be better.

Very nice :)

Beats the XP default wallpaper any time :P

The second one looks quite good, but I want to add some suggestions:
  • change the text color of "ReactOS" to the official colors, especially the different colors for "React" and "OS"
  • move up the "ReactOS" text a little bit
  • reduce the glow effect to make the text more readable
  • Use the color schema for the reactos atom instead of the monochrome/shadow version

Could you make one sans the text entirely? I prefer wallpapers without text, personally. Very well-done, though. You should do them in even more colors. I wouldn't mind a take on XP's Bliss wallpaper, personally.

Thank you so much for your comments. I'll try to perform some variations in the design with your suggestions.

I'm also going to have to say the second one looks better. I wouldn't mind using that as a wallpaper on my computer now if the resolution wasn't too low for my monitor. :)

I agree with kevinski that you should also have a second version without the text. I'm kind of funny about logos, too.

In any case, it looks great.

Second one is really nice,

as maku said,Could you move the Reactos text a little bit up?I´m proposing moving the text to h/3 (while h is the height of the wallpaper). This h/3,2h/3 are Photo Designer rules which makes a Photo/Design looks better.

Oh, and could you please make these available at higher resolutions and in 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios? 1440x900, please. :)

Very nice, can be great Windows->ReactOS transition wallpaper :)
As well as the others, I'd like a higher resolution one (at least one huge for all to resize) and one with different "perspective" - this one looks like / \, could it be more like | | ?

It's supposed to be in that perspective. It's like you're looking up at a huge curtain.

I wouldn't mind seeing some originality in ReactOS... Come on, a thin & light client OS with... VISTA STYLE WALLPAPER?

Please forgive me for my opinion and point-of-view, but how about some high resolution photos of nature scenes, with NATURAL colors, and not the Microsoft-style oversaturated candy coated nausea-shots. Do you know what I mean? And a subtle ReactOS water mark in the bottom right with a 15% "safe zone" as to dodge the taskbar.

It seems like this is a compact, efficient and conservative operating system. Vista-style wallpaper to me just seems to advertize the opposite message. Surely ReactOS won’t by default have features similar to Compiz-Fusion… will it? Wait a minute, I must go back and read the Wiki…

Pay no attention. lol

Then what about a tangofied version of the reactos logo on a solid background?

I'd make one myself, but I'm no longer on windows, and flash cs3 won't work on Wine.

I say no to this, for 3 reasons:

1. It would conflict with the other design principles used in ROS.

2. ReactOS should create its own image. Aero already gets enough trash talk for ripping off Aqua in various sectors, and we don't want the same to happen to ROS. Making our OS cloned to look like another system is the last thing we'd want to do to design a good UI.

3. I fucking hate "Vista-ish" wallpapers.
