Sorry - no web browser control could be loaded

Post by jschind »

I'm running ROS 0.2.8 in vmware, and cannot browse the internet. The error I received was:

"Sorry - no web browser control could be loaded."

I can ping out using the cmd.exe to my GW and www.reactos.org

I apologize if this has already been mentioned somewhere, I floated around the forums a bit and couldn't find anything.

Thanks
-Jason

You'll need to install the Mozilla ActiveX Control (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm) but I'm almost sure that the newest Version does not work very well. Better use Firefox, Mozilla or Seamonkey itself, they work very well in the newer SVN Versions of ReactOS. But don't use the Setup-Versions, get the zipped ones without a Setup.

Maybe you have an old version of vmware, because networking works fine in vmware 5.0 with ROS .2.8, and it's setup automatically. Try pinging your computer or try using FTP on a site like ftp.gwdg.de.

Firefox/Mozilla will work on the trunk builds, not 0.2.8.
Use: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/MozillaControl16.exe

mikedep333, maybe you should read his post again.
