Networking: Streams Drivers group and RRAS

Post by nat32support »

Does anyone know if a hooking network driver such as the WinPkFilter (NDISRD) can be made to work under ReactOS?
The current version of the WinPkFilter driver can be installed by manually adding the following registry key:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NDISRD

and then adding the following values:

"Type"=0x00000001 (REG_DWORD)
"Group"="Streams Drivers" (REG_SZ)
"Start"=0x00000001 (REG_DWORD)
"ErrorControl"=0x00000001 (REG_DWORD)

On reboot, the driver starts (at System time) and seems to be running correctly. However, I'm suspecting that the TCP/IP stack is not binding to the driver because it is reporting that no networking adapters are present.

Also, will Routing and Remote Access be appearing in ReactOS anytime soon?

VNC was working (see here), but the last time I tested it a few weeks ago, it was in regression.
If you were thinking of RDP, then there is a Jira issue here for this to be implemented.
I cannot help you any further.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

Routing and Remote Access is the term used for the support of Dial-Up Networking and the associated routing of traffic over Dial-Up connections.

This feature is important for VPN and PPPoE connections.
