well... I did notice that some errors appeared, but what does it mean ? This laptop originally had Windows XP on it, then Xubuntu and now Linux Mint Debian and they all installed without trouble. XP is no use now because of internet risks and the linux distributions generate high speed fans I didn't have with Windows OS.
Which is why I wanted to test ReactOS
I am however aware that if I still have fan problems with ReactOS too (that is if I manage to install the OS ), it won't change much from a linux distribution...
Well Linux doesn't assign letters. It gives it a special directory like /dev/Usb2432 So when ReactOS looks for a drive letter there is none and so maybe the installer is having a stroke
ReactOS Donator ~ $5.00 | Linux Mint Donator ~ $1.00 in BTC
no the HDD is pretty new (hardly used the PC since I changed it) and besides, I've been using 3 different OS with it.
I'll see if I still have an XP CD

What are you talking about?
Yes Unix has a different way of assigning drives like /dev/sdb1, but how can that have any effect on another Operating System? It is the BIOS that passes on the hardware info to the OS.
If my knowledge is wrong, then will someone else care to enlighten me!

no one exactly knows what is going wrong with the installation, no need getting irritated on this But there is something missing on the current OS which bothers ReactOS installation, right ? OK, we don't know what, but I guess it could help (although I do have doubts) trying to install with another OS preinstalled (Window based this time, to change) ?
