New User Forum?

Post by CurtOS »

Hello! New user here, once again late on the bandwagon for a Cool New Thing! Anyway, I'm here now, and I'm wondering if there is a new user forum for noobs to introduce themselves and start asking silly questions? (Like THIS one!)

Yo.
Welcome to the community!
Silly questions can be asked safely in the Off Topic forum.
But the answers will be silly too.

Anyway, keep enjoying ROS and if there is a problem, feel free to ask here.

Excellent! I already have a question: Tried to download the LiveCD version, but Chrome says that it is 'malicious' and is blocking the download. This is actually the first time I've ever seen this from Chrome. Halp.

It is a false positive. ReactOS recently has got Dr.Watson support (a component which creates minidump files with debugging output every time an application crashes) and it's detected as a malware amongst some antivirus software.

Thanks, I'll either force Chrome to complete the download or try Firefox.

New User Here, Too!

Just got ReactOS 0.4.8 installed and running in VirtualBox under macOS High Sierra and I'm thoroughly impressed! So far everything seems to work quite well, in spite of a few freezes here and there. I plan on installing some Windows apps and testing them out and will donate some cash soon (when my Social Security check comes in).

For an alpha OS, this is rather amazing and I'd like to see it through to beta and beyond!

A lot of great coding, guys!!!
