Installation doesn't boot

Post by Catbert »

Installed from BootCD, only wanted to format my drive in FAT and test if ReactOS works. Well, it doesn't.

According to BIOS system information:
Notebook Model: HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC
Product Number: LM173AV
Warranty Start Date: 08/28/2011
Processor Type: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M380 @2.53 Ghz
Total Memory: 6 GB

It hangs during boot, the bar goes 4/5 of the way. According to the pinned post, I'm supposed to press "bt" at that point. After press bt, and before I can press enter, a BSOD occurs.

Code: Select all

*** Stop 0x0000007E, 0x80000003, 0xF782C154,0xF782BDE4
It's pretty cool in a VM.

You need to be running in one of the debug modes to be able to use the bt command.

Try running ReactOS in (Screen) mode, you will then see where it stops and the bt command will be available to you
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.
