Freeze on Start Up

Freeze on Start Up
I downloaded the live cd today and have tried it on 2 computers and it freezes up on both of them. Not sure what information you need.
Re: Freeze on Start Up
If your machine has a serial port, capture the output (select the Debug option on boot). If you don't have that option, select Screen, which should print information to the screen in case of a crash. If it does crash, also get a backtrace.

Re: Freeze on Start Up
This is not very informative.
* You need to explain at what point it freezes.
* The hardware you are using.
Have a read at this.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.

Re: Freeze on Start Up
Sorry about the lack or information lets see if I can do a better job;
the first computer is a laptop currently running puppy linux 32bit,
CPU = Intel Celeron M 520 @ 1.60GHz
Ram = 512MB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 266MHz
Motherboard = Gateway
Graphics = Intel 945GM Express Chipset
(will have to check later what the hard drive is.)
The cd started up fine, and got to the screen where you choose language and ... (Can't remember) Then it went to what I'm guessing is the desktop screen and I could see a folder called "Read Me" the mouse stopped moving and was stuck as an hour glass.
The second computer is currently running Windows xp 32bit.
CPU Intel pentium 4 630
Ram 2GB single channel ddr2 @265mgz
Motherboard Dell Inc, 0F8096
Storage 74 GB samsung HD080HJ/P (sata)
Graphics Radius/Intel 82945G Express Chipset
This one only goes to the screen where you choose the options then freezes, mouse wont move and nothing works on the keyboard. Also not sure if this makes a difference or not but the keyboard and mouse are both wireless. ( I do have a usb one I can plug in)

Re: Freeze on Start Up
* USB is problematic (may work, may not work).
* WiFi is not implemented yet.
The first computer seems to have fully installed the OS, if you can see icons on the desktop. Have you tried rebooting the system again?
Try moving your mouse when it reaches the window 'loading devices' and keep moving the mouse until you reach the desktop. If the mouse moves and does not freeze at any point, then you should have a working mouse.

Re: Freeze on Start Up
Installed? It was suppose to be just running the live cd....
I did restart it before posting and the same thing happened.
I will try the mouse moving when I get back to that computer.

Re: Freeze on Start Up
Keeping the mouse moving did work to get past the freeze up.
