I've recently wanted to try ROS on virtualbox, to see how far I can take it for some common things I do.
One of them is compiling java (horrifying I know), so after installing Java 8 JRE (no problem) I tried to install Java 8 JDK (installer doesn't start).
Anyone had any luck installing JDK 8? I wouldn't mind running a newer JRE/JDK if those work, either.

Re: Installing Java JDK on ReactOS
I have installed Java 8 JDK, years ago, so if it does not install on the latest build, then a bug is at fault, which sometimes happens.
When you run the installer, it will show a window saying that, this operating system is not supported; just click OK and the install should begin.

Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.

Re: Installing Java JDK on ReactOS
"Operating system not supported" pops up when trying to install the JRE. When trying to install the JDK, nothing pops up, with the installer seemingly stuck as a background process that does nothing.
OpenJDK can be installed however and seems to work (from the minimal playing around I've done)
