I'm having an issue with setup failing with current release .iso on real hardware. Install with Virtual PC is flawless. The CVS snapshots up to the release all worked fine on the same hardware, so I am at a loss to understand the problem.

(Text Mode Setup) Error Message:

Setup failed to update mouse registry settings.
ENTER = Reboot Computer

440 BX Chipset
192 MB Standard SDRAM
20GB Maxtor IDE HDD
IDE DVD-ROM
ATI Rage Pro 4 MB AGP
Creative Labs SB 64
Netgear FA310 TX 10/100 Ethernet
Lucent WinModem
PS/2 Keyboard
Microsoft Intellimouse PS/2

The 440bx is compatible, I use it. With a PIII 600.

The Creative Labs Sound Blaster 64 is most likely the root of your problem, try removing it.

VGA drivers are not complete so try an nVidia card, or an Intel card. (Like an i810 on-board card).

Or try pulling out your modem, and/or NIC. It may be that they are not supported for Lan, since lan support is still iffy.

I'm not a developer, just a quiet observer.
