My pc crashed and im miffed i could boot my hdd anymore 160 GB down the drain ... :evil:

I don't see what this has to do with ROS but:
1-You can probably boot it again reinstalling the OS. Documents will likely to keep there.
2-If everything else fails, you can completely format the arddrive, so you can always still have the 160Gb :D

if you have a spare hd, install xp on it and use your 160 gb hd as secondary.

if you've lost the partition, try recovering it with programs like active partition recovery or something similar

If u mean to say that u followed the link i gave and ur real hard disk died .... i don't see how it is possible....

if it's just the mbr then try fixboot c: or fixmbr c: from the recovery console. if it's the partition, try with active partition recovery.

if you can see the partition but windows doesn't start, try booting from another hd.
