installing vendor supplied drivers problem

Post by Rusty_L »

Hello there :),

I have installed ReactOS on an old Dell Dimension 2400 2.4 GHZ computer, it installs and boot properly, but runs very slowly :(.

Now i noticed that it can handle Nidia cards and drivers so i put a Geforce FX 5200 PCI card in it, but when i try to install the Vendor supplied drivers it does the following:

1. app freezes on screen before the window is painted
2. remains locked on the desktop, now way to end the program as a task
3. the mouse still moves freely, but everything else is unresponsive.

i also the same reaction when trying to run some general purpose apps i made a few years ago with Rapid Q beta 5.

if some one can help me out i would appreciate it, as i think this system has promise and would like to very much use it for playing my old windows Sim games (not sims - sims makin magic, but sim earth, sim ant ect)

Thanks in advance for any help.
