How do I make an executable program for ReactOS

Post by Andrei003 » Thu Dec 26, 2019 10:34 am

Well, the title describes it all. I've tried to make a program (simple window for now) but it simply won't launch. I assume it's the CMAKEList.txt file, but it may be something else.

I would say, the simplest would be to follow existing examples from our source tree: for example, notepad:
https://git.reactos.org/?p=reactos.git; ... 73;hb=HEAD
Note also that the parent-level CMakeFiles file
https://git.reactos.org/?p=reactos.git; ... 3a;hb=HEAD
tells it has to look at the "notepad" subdirectory.

I can't get to show the window, even though the code and the CMakeFiles ... text files are correct. The process starts, but the window is not shown on the taskbar, nor shown at all

Does your app work in Windows? If not, it's a problem with your code ;)
If you need help fixing it, we'd need to see said code.

I'll try a Delphi compiler, probably version 7(.1), which is the most stable version at the time Win Server 2003 came out and it's supported API for Win32.
Why Delphi? You can read here[https://jonlennartaasenden.wordpress.co ... i-so-much/]
