Overview of ReactOS

Hello.
I'm new here but I have been testing ReactOS on virtual machines since 2 weeks. I'm Turkish. I also tested lots of Windows betas.

I appreciate ReactOS developers and testers, that project is good job. We will be able to use NT apps on free systems! But I see that ReactOS is very weak and lacks lots of features, programs and application support. I wrote here a roadmap:

-ReactOS Explorer: Back button isn't working.
-ReactOS Explorer: Windows XP icons can be used.
-Accessories: Many tools are missing.
-Windows Installer: needs improvements. I can't install Office 2000 and XP, when I install Office 2003 a module cannot be registered.
-Office 2003: When I click Reinstall and Repair, I got STOP 0x00000050 (0xE2811240, 0x00000000, 0x808D313A, 0x00000002) from NTOSKRNL.exe.
-Control Panel: needs improvements.
-DirectX: needs improvements.
-Sound schemes: Windows NT 5.0, 2000, Whistler and XP schemes can be used.
-Themes: Luna theme can be used.

I'll write here if I encounter any problem.

I have also get many bugs in ReactOS Explorer.
I am a Visual Basic 6 Lerner/Programmer. I will try to build a Explorer for ReactOS! Is any interested?

We already have a new shell in the works. We also require all code to be in C or C++.

Can we include all Microsoft Codename Whistler themes, shells, logon screens?

Our themes are not the clones of Windows ones despite being format-wise compatible. Our default Lautus is an original work under a free licence.

You know, one of Windows' advantage is good shell. So, we can add a third-party package for Windows themes, icons and shell.

Forgive me, I was busy for a short time.

Also, i386 setup should not be replaced with WIM -for now-. And a setup program like WINNT.EXE should be added and compatible with MS-DOS.

As I said, Windows Installer is very buggy.
