Yes, I had to press Windows key to be able to prove this is running on ROS :-)

I like that the ReactOS start menu just pops up over the top of the game even though it's in full screen mode.
I've always disliked the fact that Windows minimizes things in full screen mode when you hit the Windows key.
I reserve the right to ignore any portion of any post if I deem it not constructive or likely to cause the discussion to degenerate.

That's, actually kind of amazing. I recall RA2 actually breaking on Windows XP I believe, after an update by Microsoft and the only way to get it running again was to run it in compatibility mode targeting 98.

Re: EPIC WIN! - Netbeans

With revision 63736 in real hardware, I have been able to install Netbeans for the first time ever in Ros!
So here are some screenshots:

I have installed Java JDK-6u13 and Netbeans-6.7-beta-ml-php. I have given the version numbers so if any one wants to do their own testing, it should work, and JDK-7u51, makes Ros un-bootable.

There are still some problems, like, up to 200 command prompt windows opening and closing during installation, but the devs are getting there!

Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

IntelliJ IDEA 13 Community Edition (http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/), another Java based IDE.

And the screenshots:

This still has problems, but it now runs to the IDE.

ReactOS can now run the Java IDE, but not Java programs.
Just think of ReactOS as the XP beta, Whistler.

Please think again. Both Netbeans and IntelliJ IDEA are written in Java. ;)

This is another Java app that seems to work OK! It is a Point Of Sale app (http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/projec ... -05-13.zip).

And a sample of screenshots:

For it to tested properly, it needs to setup and used in a working environment.

Yes, they need to find jre on your system.

I have been able to install java, off and on (sometimes it failed to install) for at least 2 years, but Netbeans and other Java apps have not been able to find jre, so would not install.

Some dev has coded something that has now made the Java installation visible to these apps.

There are still things that may need sorting out, but so far so good.
