You forgot to add my point about running many different types of filesystems?

It's there now, it was over-written during an edit.

I want an o/s that does not complain and stop booting when I change the hardware beyond what it thinks should be in my PC.

32. Guaranteed no NSA backdoors.

I suppose we can't really say this as the NSA are a very clever bunch and ReactOS will have its own vulnerabilities as well as potentially duplicating those of Windows.

I suppose this would need to be re-worded. We can't guarantee no backdoors but the code is open for peer review which should reduce the possibility of back doors. I suppose it should/could also result in quicker fixes?

Any suggestions as to how I should re-word this?

32. NSA backdoors less likely due to peer review of the open source codebase allowing monitoring and quick fixing.

Just added:

35. No need ever to call Microsoft to re-enable software I have already purchased.
36. Has the potential for compilation to other hardware platforms and not just x86 but potentially ARM, powerPC &c leading to a multiplatform NT compatible o/s!
37. Extends the capabilities of XP/2003 to encompass newer technologies that were not present in these o/s.

38. Removes unwanted advertising on the login screen...

I have always customised my splash/login screens throughout my various versions of Wonders (sic). On Wonders 10 I was able to use the Windows 10 background login changer utility but since the recent slew of updates that choice is no longer available to us. Instead Microsoft is giving us placeholders for adverts on the login background and forcing an image of Microsoft's choice onto our background.

10 seconds after I pressed submit Wonders 10 hung and generated a BSOD. Bloomin' Microsoft - they are watching me...

Arse!

I think we should remove 29. I know I suggested that one, but thinking about it, as long as it's completely optional, it's really not a bad thing. Telemetry is good for developers to help them with hardware issues.

I hear what you are saying, the option to disable the telemetry has been given back to us via configuration.

Does Windows feed anything other than telemetry data or is it feasible that MS would feed back any other data or has plans to? In this case reason 29 could be adapted accordingly.

There's a lot of sharing of data, but it's all centralized around a service called "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry". Some people say the "dmwappushsvc" service also shares data back to MS, but I have never seen this service run on my system and it's set to manual by default. Other then that, after monitor internet data, nothing else really gets sent back if that service si disabled. Also, there is a option to disable that in the installer for Windows 10 now, after the Redstone 2 (1704) update.

So as long as ReactOS has a option ion the installer for telemetry, I really don't mind them actually doing it. Like I said, it's not bad or anything, so as long as it's optional.

anything other than telemetry data
They consider everything telemetry. Layman considers this telespying.
-uses Ubuntu+GNOME 3 GNU/Linux
-likes Free (as in freedom) and Open Source Detergents
-favors open source of Windows 10 under GPL2

I think we'll leave 29 due to the valid suspicion that commercial organisations will mine and commercialise our data without us necessarily granting access to do so. There is always the potential for data mining and I suppose having an open source o/s precludes this.

I've re-worded it.

29. No possibility of unwanted or undocumented telemetry data-mining your system, ReactOS will not expose your data thus also saving bandwidth.

This is a valid case.

They still want to spy on people through the .net framework. I have installed Greenshot in revision 75025, which wanted to down load the .net framework, which I let it do. Greenshot failed to run and later, after a reboot, Microsoft wanted to send their usual info about a failed app; I did not let it send!
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

I don't think that sort of information transfer is the problem.

I think this is another one where, as long as it is optional, which it is in win10, it isn't really a bad thing. Ads generate money to help with development.
