Installer GUI
Are there any plans to improve the GUI for the operating system installer on ReactOS? The current UI seems a bit primitive at best.

Ask yourself what does the GUI strongly remind you of?vinitapoojarys wrote: ↑Thu Sep 06, 2018 6:15 pm Are there any plans to improve the GUI for the operating system installer on ReactOS? The current UI seems a bit primitive at best.
Then ask yourself what is ReactOS? If the two thoughts combined don't answer your question then you haven't done enough (not any) of the basic research needed before asking a question.
Hint. Look at the wikipedia page on ReactOS and have a quick read.

Re: Installer GUI
Eye candy is .... ZERO priority, especially in things like the setup. 1st stage will be changed to GUI sooner or later, but the style stays the 2nd stage way.
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

Re: Installer GUI
The installer GUI is enough, when the system is install you never see it again, no need to change it for the moment.
But it's true it look like old fashion, an GUI installation in the live CD will be good.
For the OS GUI, there are already a theme like Win7/Vista and a new one more like Aero/Win10 will be present in the future release, it's a good start.

Re: Installer GUI
We don't have any current plans to improve the GUI of the second stage setup installation (in case you're mentioning that). As EmuandCo said, this is a low priority for the ReactOS team since they mainly focus on very critical parts of the OS, the kernel, subsystem, user-mode components, you name it.
The main concern right now is to get the best possible stability, compatibility across different hardware and Windows software.
