Change or set ReactOS Explorer default view?

Post by RichE »

I want to set the default view of files/folders in the ReactOS Explorer to details.

Can this be done? Folder Options is grayed out.

Thanks.

Well if it's grayed out this means it's not implemented yet, so the answer to your question is "not yet".

OH. Often, when an item is grayed out, it means "you can't do that from here".

Probably not worth the coding but instead of graying out things not implemented, either have them in another color/font/??? so you know it's not implemented, vs. just available via that time. Or, just stick in a popup for anything that's not functional/implemented saying that it's not implemented yet.

Thanks.

We prefer to gray it out, because if we enable the button and have it show a popup, that is really unfriendly:
You 'ask' the user to press it by enabling it, and then if they press it, you tell them: NO.

as for colorizing it, tbh I don't feel like making reactos into a christmas tree.

I understand and know it's all up to you.

But how is someone to know if something isn't working/grayed out when it should, vs. not working because it's not implemented?
