Dell Drivers not displaying correctly.
Hi all,
I have a dell laptop, and installing the drivers for it. I have the drivers for XP, but they don't display correctly. I am wondering if there is software to fix the rendering engine, or settings to change that fix this issue?
Thanks,

Re: Dell Drivers not displaying correctly.
Can you be more specific please?
The drivers "don't display correctly"? Display how? Are you saying you installed the video driver and what's displayed on the screen is incorrect? Incorrect how? Wrong resolution / colors / glitches?
Thanks.

Hi,
So, the application(s) is just a white/black blank square. I have been trying to install a video driver, through Dell, Nvidia, and Intel. The Dell one, along with the rest from Dell, goes blank. The Nvidia one refuses to install. The Intel one destroys the OS. It's rough... especially since I can't install the trackpad driver from Dell. LOL
Thanks for any advice,

Re: Dell Drivers not displaying correctly.
Is there an API for ReactOS that I can download without a graphics driver install? I think that's the issue.

Re: Dell Drivers not displaying correctly.
Are any of these drivers packaged in self-extracting executables? Sometimes there's a secondary installer (which may run better), and you get direct access to the INF files. I believe that the "Update driver" function in Device Manager is capable of installing a driver if you direct it to the right location.
Re: Dell Drivers not displaying correctly.
I think you're getting your terms confused. You can't "download an API". What are you asking, exactly?
To answer some possible ways the question may have been intended: most people don't really modify ROS in significant ways (nor do they need to) so there's only the "standard" version of it; and we aim to be compatible with Windows and therefore don't tend to provide special drivers -- you should simply use the vendor-provided driver for Windows XP or 2003. If it doesn't work, that's a bug in ROS.

When I refer to API, I mean something like DirectX. That probably wouldn't help though.ThFabba wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 10:32 amI think you're getting your terms confused. You can't "download an API". What are you asking, exactly?

So how should I report all the bugs, since none of the vendor drivers work?

Re: Dell Drivers not displaying correctly.
Feel free to report them on Jira. Make sure to only cover a single driver installer per ticket, and include a debug log. If there's a public download link for the driver you're installing also mention that. And describe your hardware as well as you can -- if you include the debug log from running ReactOS setup, that'll help since it dumps a list of PCI devices.
