I hope OpenOffice runs soon on ReactOS. Then the break-even to a productive system is close. :)

Network even sooner...

Post by Jaix »

Yes, Open Office is an importand stepstone, but network will be released this year and that is also a great stepstone, a lot will happen when reactos can use the web, mail, irc, im, ftp and many other sorts of applications.
We hope for a successful releas later this month!
Good luck guys!

ReactOS is the future! And thanks to ReactOs the future is looking bright!

I predict in a short time ReactOS will become at least as good as Windows 95, and if that hackup of Windows 3.1 could sell millions so can ReactOS! Probably even more since ReactOS is free!

:D YAY REACTOS! :D

Does anybody know the release date accurately? And will it be the Version 0.2.5 or 0.3.0?

It will be 0.3.0, however I think the release date is unknown yet (but should be this month).

Wow 0.3.0  ! And what is the reason for this? The Networking feature?

I personally expect 0.3.0 not before mid to end of january, maybe there'll be a 0.2.6 release towards the end of december (with not really working/very unstable networking). There's nothing official though. The goal for 0.3.0 however is networking.

Network in Dec-Jan

Post by Jaix »

Yes, as you said, networking will be ready soon, and I think more people want that rather then OpenOffice, but if Art Yerkes and his co-workers keep their goal they will release ver 0.3 before January, but as you probably noticed software development is often delayed. But as the developers said, it will be worth the wait.

When network is running I also long for OpenOffice and Printing possibilities to the ReactOS.

Another blessing will be the XBox release that I really look forward to. Read more about this http://www.reactos.com/en/content/view/full/7001.
It is Gé van Geldorp who has this as amusement between his serious coding, but I really considder X-box worth buying when ReactOS run on it.

I'm assuming the IP stack will be the first step that will be implemented???

Will this incorporate TCP and UDP ?
