before i get the source code i have an adsl line with a limited cap ----- how big is all the source code in the trunk together?

good ^_^ thats small enough --- and when u update it only gets newer files right?

yes type of.... it "updates" the older file with the changed code....

every night new code is added right? ill do it daily then --- is it possible for me to add some other open source code and drivers to my build ?

New code is added to the svn all the time, but I think the devs commits pretty many times every day (I guess average 10-20 every day).
All additional projects is supposed to go into .\Trunk\reactos\modules\rosapps or just .\Trunk\reactos\modules.
You can try what works. If you like you can copy the directory .\Trunk\rosapps to Trunk\reactos\modules\ there is a lot of examples and testapps to start with.
These will build automatically if you make a build.

Got the code on my pc now having difficulty making a disc -- will check the walkthrough again and post if im having trouble
