Hey, guyz: why don't we open an OFFICIAL ReactX logo contest ? (i mean not just a forum 3ad).

This could help to bring designers here... :wink:

Not bad, but the "buttonizing" effect on the X is not that cool (to me).

ReactX and ROS are selected, as it follows from the newsletter.
But don't You thionk it could be not a very great idea to use the namem, which isn't unique (ROX vs. ROX)?

Actually, I'm not entirely sure where the ROX thing came from. encoded added that on after I sent him my stuff. All I did was confirm ReactX.

Then may be it would be a good idea to use RX as short name of ReactX, as RX is widely used, but all the software-related RXes are now out of focus?

Simpler is better, in my opinion. Anyway some suggestions:

1. Use a different background-surface-form for the X (this rounded square sign, for example);
2. Use standard aspect sizes/ratios for the radiation symbol (here and here);
3. A 3D perspective could be interesting (check this, this and this are cool)
4. test different colors (an inspiration)

:idea:

note: i still rise the biohazard-symbol inspiration again...

I believe the reason he didn't use a standard radiation symbol is because it's supposed to resemble an X...but a radiation symbol isn't an X...

Thanks for the ideas. As WhiteFlash aleready said, it's supposed to resemble an X. It can take some time, but I'll see what I can modify and what looks better.

I would like to contribute a design, but I would need clarification about the name. The newsletter said ReactX or ROX, but I don't see how ROX is short for ReactX. There isn't an "O" in "ReactX". I would have to know which direction to go. I suppose "RX" could be short for "ReactX", but I'd just need to know. Keep up the good work!

Hi
The offical name is ReactX

The ROX comes from ROS

ROS is the nick name we are using for ReactOS in IRC
and ROX is the nick name for ReactX in IRC as u can see it is easy to mix it up.

Yeah, I can see how ROX is like ROS, but how is it a reference to ReactX if ReactX does not contain the letter "O"? Wouldn't it be faster and correcter [sic] to just use RX? It just seems incorrect and more of a hassle to include the superfluous "O".
