ReactOS default Desktop background

Post by ROSFan »

daanp inspirated me to this:

What about starting a competition about default Desktop Background every time a new ReactOS Version comes out? Any support by developers?

edit: while working on ReactX logo I created this:
It is a rework of an wallpaper from kde-look.org

i like the first one a lot, but i would like it more if it didnt have the reactos logo just kinda floating there, it looks really out of place :p

If you have good ideas and can't do it by yourself, you can write down your ideas here. If I have some time I maybe can do it.

Who says the logo has to be in the backround at all? You dont see "Mac OSX" in the default mac wallpaper, or "Windows XP" on the default XP wallpaper do you?

Im not saying it cant/shouldnt be there, but maybe a more uniformed look, or have the logo kinda blend, something like the wallpaper ROSFan first posted, or maybe like this

(thats just an example i found on google)

Im not too great with photoshop, but if i get some time ill try and make something :p

As I said, im not the greatest with photoshop, but heres some things i made pretty quick. (though im thinking i should make the logo a little smaller. and i only put the logo in so it wouldnt look as..... empty)

I'm not a fan of the first one, but the second one I like a lot :)
I guess its because you only use blue and white, as does the ROS logo.

One thing I've learned from experience with wallpapers: Use very few different colours as possible, but instead use different shades of the colour or colours you've chosen. Blue works best since blue is a calming colour.

You could also take photos of forests or natural places (no buildings, etc). They make excellent wallpapers. :)

Space can look cool, too... My desktop shows a picture of the Enterprise-D warping through space 8)
More ReactOS, please!
